Nearly five decades after the establishment of Sharif University of Technology, in February 2015, the University’s Strategic Planning Council resolved that the implementation of the University’s strategic plan should be entrusted to an internal institutional body. This decision led to the formation of the concept of a centralized entity responsible for budgeting, monitoring, and performance evaluation.
In January 2018, following the approval of the strategic plan by the University Council and subsequently by the Board of Trustees, the Center for Strategic Planning and Resource Development was established. The Center officially commenced its activities in March 2018 and has since served as the University’s executive and analytical arm in advancing the realization of its strategic objectives.
The Center for Strategic Planning and Resource Development of Sharif University of Technology seeks to align the University’s resources with its overarching goals by integrating strategic management, performance-based budgeting, performance analysis, and monitoring of plan implementation. In general, the Center focuses on enhancing the effectiveness of decision-making processes, improving the efficiency of resource allocation, ensuring accountability to higher-level authorities, and promoting continuous improvement in the University’s planning system, in accordance with the requirements of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology and Sharif University’s strategic vision.
